Streetstakes Publishing

Streetstakes Publishing was founded in 2002 in Galveston County, Texas by Richard Irving and J.T. Richardson with a clear purpose—to create a platform that connects and elevates the custom automotive community. That same year, the company launched its first publication, Southern Custom Magazine, a regional magazine dedicated to showcasing custom cars, motorcycles, and the businesses that support the culture. The magazine quickly proved to be more than a publication—it became a powerful marketing tool for local businesses and a trusted voice within the custom scene. Advertisers benefited from direct exposure to a passionate and engaged audience, while readers gained a platform that represented their lifestyle and creativity. Later in 2002, operations were paused due to a major medical event. Years later, with renewed vision and determination, Richard Irving, alongside his life and business partner Kimberly E. Collins, began redesigning the publication with plans to relaunch in 2019—this time with a stronger focus on the custom motorcycle community. However, the global impact of COVID-19 in 2020 delayed those plans once again. In 2021, Kimberly was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. She faced her battle with strength and resilience until her passing on October 3, 2025. Kimberly was not only a driving force behind the publishing company, but also a true supporter of the custom motorcycle culture. Her vision, passion, and belief in the brand helped shape its direction and purpose. Her presence remains a lasting influence on everything Streetstakes Publishing continues to build. Following her passing, Richard reimagined the publication once more, introducing Urban Kustomz Magazine. This new direction expands beyond a regional focus to embrace custom automotive and motorcycle communities across the country and around the world. The mission remains the same—provide businesses with meaningful exposure and give the culture a platform that represents its voice, creativity, and innovation. Streetstakes Publishing is built on resilience, vision, and community. We appreciate your support and welcome you to be part of what comes next.
